'I Heard It Through the Grapevine' is a song written by Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong for Motown Records in 1966. The first recording of the song to be released was produced by Whitfield for Gladys Knight & the Pips and released as a single in September 1967; it went to number two on the Billboard Pop Singles chart and became the biggest selling Motown single to date. When can I enroll?
Enrollment for continuing (current) UC San Diego students opens on Monday, April 13 by appointment times. Appointment times available on TritonLink.
Enrollment for visiting students (UC visitors, high school, incoming, International students, alumni, other college students, etc.) opens on Monday, April 20 at 8:30am for all students. The online application opened on April 1, 2020. Visiting students can begin first steps to enrollment before enrollment opens on April 20.

Housing
Is on-campus housing available during Summer Session 2020?
On-campus housing will remain open and operational for summer session. Students remaining in campus housing will be assigned to single-occupancy spaces.
Students should consider living on campus during summer session ONLY if they satisfy at least one of the following conditions: those who are without access to stable housing; who come from housing/food insecure households; who are unable to travel home; who are from areas highly impacted by COVID-19 or regions at risk for a COVID-19 outbreak; who are unable to relocate without high risk to their safety; and those who would be relocating to homes that lack infrastructure to accommodate virtual instruction.
Students who are remaining on campus for summer are reminded of the importance of physical distancing to further ensure the health and well-being of our community.

Financial Aid
I am still eligible for Financial Aid?
Yes, UCSD students may be eligible for Financial Aid. Enrollment in summer session courses required for the Financial Aid Office to determine the amount of an award.
Commonly asked questions:
- How many units are required for financial aid?
Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units for summer. Enrollment can be one course in Session 1 and one course in Session 2. A minimum of 6 units can also be two courses in sessions 1 or 2.
- If I'm on a waitlist, do those units count towards my 6 units?
Waitlisted courses do not count towards a minimum total units. Students must be enrolled in a minimum total of 6 units for the entire Summer Session.
- Can I apply for aid if I'm planning to attend a different UC campus?
Student should contact the San Diego Financial Aid office to apply for aid to be sent to a different UC campus.
- How do I know if I qualify for aid?
Students enroll in summer courses, and the Financial Aid Office will automatically calculate an award. Students can accept the award or not accept the award for Summer courses.

Will I need to pay campus-based fees for online courses?

Yes. Remote courses are not new to UC San Diego Summer Session. All courses incur Campus-Based Fee charges as well. This applies to courses not offered on campus - study abroad, online, etc.

As campus operations adjust to the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, our dedicated team of professionals remains committed to delivering the highest quality service possible. Campus-based fees will continue to be collected and will not be refunded.
